Evaluation & Jury: Briea National Student Competition 2025

Where Every Voice Matters. Judged with Integrity, Read with Empathy.

At Briea, every essay is more than words on a page—it’s a reflection of a student’s inner world, a challenge faced, or a solution imagined. Our evaluation process is designed to ensure that each voice is heard without judgment, bias, or fear. We believe that true change begins with understanding, and that’s exactly what our Jury stands for.

How We Evaluate

  • Step 1 – Complete Anonymity

Essays are reviewed without any reference to the student’s name, college, or background. Every entry stands on its own merit.

  • Step 2 – Structured and Compassionate Review

Our jury members are mental health professionals, educators, and student advocates who understand the pressures students face today. They evaluate each essay based on clear, fair, and purpose-driven parameters.

  • Step 3 – Transparent Criteria

Every essay is scored on aspects that matter — clarity, depth, creativity, practicality, and engagement. The aim is not just to pick winners but to recognize authentic voices and workable solutions.

  • Step 4 – Encouragement Through Insight

We approach every submission as an opportunity to understand and support students better. The insights gathered help shape conversations around wellbeing and real change.

What We Look For

Part 1-
Why Are Students Crashing?

We want essays that go beyond surface observations. Our criteria include:

  • Clarity of Causes – Are the reasons explained clearly and logically?
  • Depth of Insight – Do the causes reflect an understanding of academic, social, emotional, lifestyle, or systemic factors?
  • Originality and Relevance – Are the causes fresh and tied closely to real student experiences?
  • Expression and Engagement – Is the essay concise, well-written, and compelling within the word limit?

Part 2-
How to Stop It?

We value practical and thoughtful solutions. Our criteria include:

  • Practicality of Solutions – Are the solutions realistic and implementable in student life?
  • Creativity and Freshness– Do they offer unique approaches beyond standard advice? or systemic factors?
  • Impact and Effectiveness – Would these solutions truly help reduce burnout?
  • Expression and Engagement – Is the writing clear, concise, and engaging within the word limit?

Why It Matters

Because Every Voice Can Lead to Change

Students face stress, exhaustion, and uncertainty more than ever before. By carefully listening to their experiences and ideas, we aim to create a space where solutions are rooted in real life, not just theory. Our jury members are mentors — they bring experience, empathy, and integrity to ensure that every essay is treated with the respect it deserves.

Meet Our Jury
